Terms and Conditions

Please read our Terms and Conditions carefully.  Upon checking into our accommodation it is deemed that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Arrival/Departure

Check in time is from 2:00pm

.
Guests have the option to complete their pre-check in online.  An email will be sent to all guests 24 hours before their arrival.  Once the pre-check in has been completed and received by us, you will receive your check in details by email and text message on the day of arrival.  If you do not wish to complete the pre-check in information online you will need to present to the office on the day of arrival to complete this process.


Check out is by 10am.  


We appreciate your cooperation with departing on time.  Failure to depart the property by 10am on the day of departure may incur a fee of $50 per hour.  Late check out may be available on request (subject to availability).  Charges may apply.


Please refer to the Compendium in the unit for check out instructions.  

Rates

All rates quoted are in Australian dollars and include GST.


Rates are based on 2 guests.  Unless previously approved by management, the maximum number of guests per unit is 4.  Additional guests are charged at $30 per person per night.  

Payment Terms

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking.  Unless agreed with management at the time of booking, bookings are not confirmed until the deposit has been paid.  If the deposit has not been received within 24 hours, management reserve the right to automatically cancel the booking without notice.


If arrangements have been made for the deposit to be paid at a later date, one reminder email will be sent requesting payment of the deposit.  If the deposit has not been received within 24 hours of the deposit request email being sent, we reserve the right to cancel the booking without notice.


Payment of the balance is required on arrival.  If you do not present to the office on check in, the balance will be charged to the card held on file.


We accept MasterCard and Visa.  Credit card payments attract a 1% surcharge.

Security Deposit

We reserve the right to hold credit card details on file as security for any damages or excess cleaning that may be incurred during your stay including the following:


•    If excess cleaning is required due to lack of care from guests.
•    If crockery/glasses/furniture etc is moved between units and not returned.
•    If any damage has occurred.
•    In order to remove permanable odours from smoking etc.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received in writing via email.


For cancellations within 14 days, your deposit will be forfeited.  For cancellations within 7 days, the total amount for your stay will be forfeited.   We will endeavour to re-book any cancelled dates at the same value as your stay and if this occurs, a refund will be issued for the dates that have been re-booked less a $50 administration fee per unit booked.   Deposits can be transferred to another booking period at the management’s discretion.


Any credit left on a guest’s account following a cancellation/booking amendment is in dollars and not night stays.  Credit must be used within twelve months of being issued.  

Guest Numbers

The total number of guests must not exceed the number stated on the booking confirmation.  If the number of guests exceeds the number booked for, Chestnut Tree reserves the right to gain immediate possession of the property with no refund being issued.

Room Requests

We endeavour to comply with requests for a particular unit.  However, we reserve the right to reassign bookings to another unit if required.

Minimum Stay Periods

A minimum stay period applies to all bookings in peak periods.  This includes school holidays and event weekends.  For confirmation of minimum stay periods, please contact management.

WIFI

Free WIFI is provided though interruptions may occur.  We are currently on the fastest NBN service available in Bright.  However, during busy periods the internet connection in town can become congested resulting in slower speeds.  Please be patient.

Public Emergencies

Chestnut Tree takes no responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of guests while in residence at the time of any natural disasters or events.  We will however endeavour to provide as much communication and local information to guests as possible.  It is the guests’ responsibility to make all decisions and choices regarding their safety and plans.


If you cancel your booking because of an Extreme or Code Red Fire Danger Rating for Bright, your deposit is refundable less a $50 administration fee.


If you leave because of an extreme or code red CFA fire danger rating for Bright, you will not be charged for the accommodation booked but unused.


We highly recommend travel insurance for all of our guests to cover any losses incurred by cancellations or unforeseen circumstances.

Guest Behaviour/Parties

Chestnut Tree retains the right to evict a guest or visitor without warning should there be a breach of these Terms and Conditions.  Any physical, psychological, or verbal abuse towards staff or guests will result in immediate eviction.  


We reserve the right to send guests away from the accommodation due to their conduct and behaviour or for any other safety, security or medical reason.  
Chestnut Tree has a strict no party policy.  Should a party or event be reported, guests will be asked to vacate the property immediately with no refund being issued.

Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all accommodation.  If smoking outside the units, it is the guest’s responsibility to ensure all windows and doors are closed.  A minimum cleaning fee of $300 will be payable for any smoke damage including removal of odours.  

Pets

Unless agreed with management, pets are not permitted on the grounds of Chestnut Tree.  An exception applies for assistance animals.

Country Setting

Our property is in a country setting in Bright.  As such, there is always a risk of bugs, spiders, snakes, bats, millipedes etc being within the vicinity of the property.  Although care is taken to avoid their entry to the property and prompt removal will be undertaken, our standard cancellation policy will still apply should guests simply disapprove of bugs and animals.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is not supervised lifeguards.  Use of the swimming pool and spa is at guests’ own risk and the access rules must be adhered to at all times including:


•    Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by adults at all times.
•    No running, pushing, jumping, bombing or diving is permitted.
•    No glassware of any kind is permitted.


We take no responsibility for any incidents occurring in or around the water.  

Security, personal property and liability

Bright is a safe place however we encourage all guests not to be complacent.  Guests are responsible for keeping the property secure during their stay and will be responsible for any theft or damage due to neglect in this area.  No responsibility is taken for guest’s personal property left on or near the premises.  


Chestnut Tree does not accept any liability whatsoever for any injury, debt, damage, loss, delay, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any events which are beyond its control including but not limited to fire, floors, acts of God, acts or Government, failure of machinery or equipment, maintenance requirements etc.


No responsibility is taken for guests’ personal property left on the premises on departure or lost/stolen during your stay.  Any belongings left behind will be held at our office for two weeks.  If the property is not claimed within that time it will be discarded.

Unforeseen Circumstances

At times, situations arise of which we have no control.  Chestnut Tree reserves the right to cancel a booking or offer to move guests to an alternate accommodation (subject to availability) at their discretion.  In this instance, we will notify you as soon as possible and make every reasonable effort to source alternative accommodation for you.  Should you choose to take the option of alternate accommodation, any price increase will be at your cost.


In the event of renovation/building work being carried out in or near the property, such work is beyond our control, and we cannot accept responsibility for any disturbance, noise, or inconvenience you may suffer as a result.  No discount will be negotiated for any of the above.
